As you know, we have made significant changes and improvements to Cochrane’s review production model, which has led to the creation of our new Focused Review Format. This isn't just a tweak - it's a complete overhaul to make life easier for our authors and improve how our systematic reviews are conducted and presented. |
April’s Methods Support Unit web clinic will take place on Thursday April 25th 2024 at 13:00 UTC and will cover ‘Plain language for Cochrane reviews: how to ensure your readers find what they need and understand what they find’. Denise Mitchell, Senior Production Editor at Cochrane, will cover the general principles of writing in plain language applicable to the whole review, concentrating first on structure, moving on to style, and then, finally, language. The specific requirements of the Plain language summary will also be covered. The session will be of interest to authors and editors.

7. Component network meta-analysis: concepts and insights: Web Clinic recording
The recording is now available for the Methods Support Unit March 2024 web clinic. Sofia Tsokani, Statistics Editor at Cochrane, gave a fascinating presentation on the benefits and limitations of component network meta-analysis. Standard network meta-analysis is a statistical method that allows for comparing three or more interventions in a single framework, by synthesizing direct and indirect evidence from multiple studies which address the same scientific question. Healthcare interventions are often complex (or multicomponent), comprising multiple, possibly interacting, components. While NMA focuses on estimating intervention effects, component NMA (CNMA) disentangles the effect of each component. Recording available here
