1. Introduction of annual submission cut-off date
To help manage year-end workloads and submission volumes more effectively, the Central Editorial Service will be introducing an annual submission cut-off date, starting this November, applicable to all new submissions, but not proposals or revisions. This approach is standard practice in publishing, due to limited availability of both internal staff and external stakeholders (e.g., peer referees and sign-off editors) during the holiday period. As a result, submissions typically lie fallow until the new year. Key Dates: - The final submission date for manuscripts via Editorial Manager will be Friday, 14 November 2025.
- Submissions will reopen on Monday, 5 January 2026.
We kindly ask all authors to plan their schedules accordingly. If your invitation to submit was due between 14 November 2025 and 5 January 2026, we have rescheduled your submission date for January. You will have received an email to this effect from Editorial Manager. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

2. Recognising authorship with ORCID
By adding your ORCID iD in Editorial Manager, your unique researcher identity will appear alongside your name on your published review on the Cochrane Library. This ensures your research identity is fully visible and enhances transparency and trust in the research we publish. Log in to Editorial Manager and link your ORCID iD today - so your contributions are visible, verifiable, and valued. Please note that from 20 August 2025, it is mandatory for all corresponding authors to have an ORCID iD linked to their profile in Editorial Manager at the point of submission. Instructions on how to link your ORCID iD are available here.

3. Speed up your write-up, we've automated result reporting in RevMan
We are constantly improving RevMan. With the new dynamic analysis results feature, say goodbye to manual updates; reporting your findings is now faster, more accurate and automated. This feature ensures that the results you report in your review article are always in sync with your analysis data. No more copy-pasting, no more errors, and no more last-minute editorial fixes. You can use the dynamic analysis results feature in any section of your review, from the abstract to the discussion. How it works - Insert a result element: In the text editor, click the “Insert result” button.
- Choose your analysis: Select the analysis and outcome you want to report.
- Customize the output: Choose the effect measure, confidence interval, and other display options.
- Done! The result appears in your text and stays in sync with your data.
