Welcome to the March 2021 Cochrane Consumer community news digest. As we write this, we are aware of the impact that Coronavirus (COVID-19) is having across the world. On behalf of our colleagues at Cochrane we would like to send our best wishes to you, your family and friends in these difficult times.

In this digest we have put together some information about the evidence related to COVID-19 and how Cochrane is responding. Many of the resources posted below are being continually updated.

Cochrane signs WHO’s Vaccine Equity Declaration

Cochrane has signed a World Health Organization (WHO) Declaration that calls for a more equitable rollout of COVID-19 vaccines. Cochrane firmly believes in the principle of equity and is proud to support this global initiative. Read more here.

COVID-19 and its cardiovascular effects: a systematic review of prevalence studies

 

In this short interview, Prof. John GF Cleland, senior author of this recently published Cochrane review, tells us about what this review found regarding the type of heart and blood vessel problems that complicate COVID-19 infections.

Cochrane Evidence Essentials now available in German

We are delighted to announce the launch of Cochrane Evidence Essentials in German. These four free online learning modules are designed for anyone interested in health evidence and give an introduction to Evidence Based Medicine, clinical trials, systematic reviews, Cochrane evidence and how to understand and use it. The modules were translated and developed in collaboration with Cochrane Germany, Cochrane Switzerland and Cochrane Austria. Access the modules here.
