ECP Network News and Announcements

PICO summaries are now available in Cochrane Reviews: Changes have been introduced to Cochrane Reviews to display PICO terms below the Abstract. This gives an at-a-glance summary of Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome for the Review as annotated by Cochrane Community experts. With one click on a PICO term, users can see search results for Reviews with the same included PICOs. There is also prominent Help material giving clear guidance on using PICOs, linking to the relevant section of the Cochrane Handbook. On the Review Information pages, MeSH and PICOs are grouped together for easy discoverability.

In celebration of International Women's Day, 8th March 2022, members of the Cochrane Early Career Professionals Network collaborated with Cochrane US on a speed networking event for women in STEM. Members of the ECP shared their own personal stories of the value of mentoring, role modelling and networking before the group were given the opportunity to connect with others in three minute, quick fire slots.

The event was a resounding success with many new connections made by all. ECP member Dolly Sud said "really great event - proud to have taken part alongside such wonderful amazing women," with Elpida Vounzoulaki adding "the IWD event was really nice, so many inspiring women attending!" Anna Harvey said "as my first event as part of the ECP, I was made to feel really welcomed and comfortable to add my own ideas to the event."

We look forward to further networking and mentoring events run by the ECP and we would encourage female early career professionals to get involved with Cochrane.
