1. Closing of ME Support

After 10 years, ME Support is coming to a close at the end of the month.

We have been very lucky to have worked in this role, as it gave us a unique opportunity to get to know you all a bit better.

Thank you for making our job much more fun and interesting than we ever imagined it could be.

It’s been a privilege to work with the best people in Cochrane, and we will miss this part of our day-to-day work.

Over the years Cochrane has made our lives interesting with all that they have introduced: Archie, workflows, RevMan 5, RevMan Web, Editorial Manager, all the editorial policies. MEs have taken it all in their stride and got on with their jobs; ensuring the publication success that Cochrane is known for. MEs are resilient individuals and no matter what the future holds for each and every one of us, please remember we all have so much experience under our belts. We wish you all the best.

We would like to thank the MEs’ Executive for sending us a beautiful bunch of flowers and to all of you who contributed to our Kudoboard.

For those celebrating Christmas, we wish a good one and for the rest happy holidays; take the time to rest up and enjoy the break.

Anupa & Liz

2. Support going forward

The Support Team (support@cochrane.org) will continue to be your ‘go to’ for any help you need, and answer any questions you have.

Rachel Klabunde has now taken over as Support Manager.

Rachel continues to be supported by Diane Gal, Eva Krainitzki and Stephanie Owens.

Just a reminder that Cochrane Support will be closed for the holidays from 23 December-2 January inclusive and that there will be no one responding to queries until 3rd January 2023 at the earliest.

3. Launch of Cochrane Engage

Cochrane is pleased to announce the launch of Cochrane Engage, Cochrane’s one-stop-shop for those who want to get involved and volunteer in Cochrane.

Formerly Cochrane TaskExchange, the platform had outgrown its name and look, and it is now being used for much more than review tasks.

Cochrane Engage is a place where anyone working in evidence-based health research can come to find volunteers to support their work – we welcome tasks posted by Cochrane Groups and any other organisations or individuals in the wider health research community.

4. Cochrane's new review format: tell us what you think

Cochrane is looking for detailed feedback on its new review format.

Read more and register your interest on the volunteer hub Cochrane Engage.

Your feedback can help change the look of published Cochrane Reviews, and also have wider impact on changes to RevMan, our guidance, and templates. Register you interest or ask questions here.

5. News

The Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI) Group wishes to thank Fiona Russell, who has been working as co-ME two days a week since July 2020.

Her ARI Group role will finish up this week, and we wish her all the best with her future endeavours.

Fiona's ME role with Cochrane Back Group / Musculoskeletal Group remains unchanged.
