1. Guidance and support for CRGs leading up to March 2023
A new webpage is now available on the Cochrane Community site, providing guidance and support for CRGs through to March 2023. The page includes information on: - Managing review portfolios
- Timeframes for handing over content to Central Editorial Service
- CRG websites and social media accounts
This page is behind a staff login. The information is primarily aimed at UK CRGs losing funding, but is accessible to all Review Group staff. If you have any issues accessing the page, please contact support@cochrane.org. The Editorial Manager drop-in/Q&A sessions on Wednesday 14 September, will look at handing over content to Central Editorial Service. Sign up now to add this to your calendar.

2. Proposals for new Cochrane Reviews
We are now inviting authors to submit proposals for new reviews to the Central Editorial Manager site. The ability to submit proposals on group sites will be disabled on 29 July 2022. If you have not yet added information on this to your group website, please add the message below: "Cochrane invites prospective authors to propose new Cochrane Reviews by submitting a proposal in Editorial Manager. Please see the Cochrane Library information for authors for further details." If you would like Cochrane Support to help with updating your website, please email support@cochrane.org.

5. Change to Cochrane's production team
Following the introduction of Editorial Manager and new workflows for Cochrane Reviews and protocols there have been changes to the production process (copy-editing through to publication). The aim is a clearer separation of editorial and production phases and a consistent and more journal-like process for all content published in the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews. From Monday 18 July 2022 the Copy Edit Support service will be renamed the Central Production Service (CPS). It will work alongside Cochrane’s Central Editorial Service. Key team members remain Elizabeth Royle (now Production Manager) and Denise Mitchell (now Senior Production Editor). Elizabeth, Denise and the Copy Edit team will continue to be supported by Justin Mann, Lydia Parsonson, Christine Schorfheide, and the Cochrane Support team. The Production team has a new email address: production@cochrane.org. This address will automatically be used for submissions by the EM system, and the team will continue to acknowledge submissions when they arrive. There will be no need to cc the old address (ces@cochrane.org). You can contact the production team via production@cochrane.org if you have queries about the status or scheduling of a particular review, protocol or editorial, or if you have general questions or feedback about the production process. Please continue to send any support queries to support@cochrane.org.

b. Farewell to the following MEs/AMEs Julitta Boschman was the Managing Editor for Cochrane Work since September 2019, and the Co-ordinating Editor, Jan Hoving had the following to say “we had the pleasure of working with her in the Cochrane Work group on many reviews. Julitta has decided to spend more time working in other research in the field of occupational health, and we thank her for her contributions to our group.” We are now looking for a new Managing Editor for 1-2 days a week! Please contact Jan Hoving, at j.l.hoving@amsterdamumc.nl Bronwen Merner has left the ME post for Consumers & Communication. Bron had been ME since April 2016. Bronwen left a farewell message “I’ve enjoyed working with Cochrane Consumers and Communication as the Managing Editor since 2016. Coming into the role without any real understanding of what an ME did, I’d like to thank Ann Jones and Liz Dooley who both spent many hours training me in how to use Archie and answered my countless questions. I’d also like to thank Louisa Walsh, with whom I have shared the ME position since 2019. Thank you also to the MEs from other Groups, particularly in Australia, who have made a traditionally lonely position much less so. Whilst no longer having an official role with Cochrane, I will still be working with the Centre for Health Communication and Participation at La Trobe University so will remain close to the Cochrane action. Healthcare research is a small field, so I’m sure I will bump into at least some of you in future!” Gudrun Paletta, who was AME for Cochrane Metabolic and Endocrine Disorders has left the group. During her many years with the group, she also took up the ME role for a time. Olga Gomez, ME for STI Group left the Group at the beginning of July. Olga left a farewell message: “I would like to express my gratitude for the opportunity to work with Cochrane and say how much I have enjoyed working as a ME. Unfortunately I have to move away from my ME role of the STI Group. I wish the best for the Cochrane community and organization. Sincerely, Olga Gómez”. The STI Group work is now being managed by the Netherlands Satellite of the Cochrane Gynaecology and Fertility Group. We wish Julitta, Bronwen, Gudrun and Olga all the best for the future.
